Connect Ps3 Controller To Windows 10 Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a common wireless technology used in cellular phones, computers and Sony's PlayStation 3. For PS3, the console's peripherals, including its Dualshock 3 and Sixaxis gaming controllers, remote control, keyboard, mouse and headset communicate via Bluetooth technology. The use of Bluetooth in the PS3 should allow for universal connectivity for PC gaming; however, the PS3's wireless gaming controllers are not compatible with a PC without installing custom drivers and software.

I've never done it but when installing it you can select your controllers you want to connect but also try plugging everything in that's Bluetooth and select them as well. See if they work if not uninstall and just check the controllers. Also they say you don't have to the force option for Windows 10 but I had to. A previous version of this article detailed the use of MotioninJoy to use your Sony PS3 controller as a joystick on your Windows PC. Unfortunately, MotioninJoy was a proprietary piece of software that turned into malware over the years. If you allow ScpToolkit to start with Windows, you should simply be able to plug in your PS3 controller again and it’ll instantly be recognized. Once the LED is on, unplug the controller, and it’ll once again be synced via Bluetooth. This way you can use the PS 3 controller on PC. Also Read: How to Use Alarm on PC Windows 10.

Using PS3 Wireless Controllers with a PC

Download and install a third-party software package, such as MotionJoy. The package should contain all the drivers and software needed to allow Bluetooth communications between the wireless controllers and the PC.

Open the Windows 'Start' menu. Click on 'All Programs', 'MotionJoy' and then right-click on 'Install Bluetooth Driver'. Select 'Run as Administrator'. Notepad will open, alerting you when the driver has been installed.

Click on the Windows 'Start' menu, followed by 'Control Panel', 'Printers and Other Devices' and 'Game Controllers'. The new Bluetooth controller should appear on the list. Do not close the controller window.

Windows

Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the computer and the mini-B end to your Dualshock 3 or Sixaxis wireless controller. A USB game controller now appears in the game controller window.

Close the controller window and disconnect the USB cord from the controller. The drivers have been successfully installed.

Locate MotionJoy's 'DS3 TOOL', which is located under 'Start', 'All Programs', then 'MotionJoy'. After the program loads, click 'Pairing'.

Press the PS button on the connected wireless controller. Your Bluetooth controller is connected.

Load a PC game with gamepad controller support. Your PS3's wireless controller is fully functional within the game.

Tip

You must open the DS3 TOOL every time you want to use your PS3 controller on your PC; this allows it to successfully pair with the Bluetooth on your PC.

At driver install, if you are using a 64-bit PC, press F8 while installing the Bluetooth drivers and select 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement'. This can prevent driver conflicts that can arise.

Warning

As long as the pairing tool is open, you can press the PS button on the wireless controller to disconnect and reconnect the wireless controller from the PC. However, if you disconnect it and use it on your PS3, you must pair it again to use it on your PC.

If you have multiple Bluetooth adapters installed, then you will need to disable them.

Rebooted multiple times, disabled and reenabled Bluetooth. Made sure drivers for Bluetooth under device manager were up to date. Nothing seems to pair with just does nothing and says that didn't work.

If you're trying to play PS4 games on your PC via the PS app then you should use the controller wired via a USB port. If you're just trying to pair the DS controller to play PC games then you could still try the above suggestion to see if it connects via BT while connected.

Are you trying to connect with the controller turned off or on?

I tried & had no problem connecting my PS4 DS controller to my laptop.

While controller was off I pressed & held PS button & options button together until light bar began flashing then clicked pair on my laptop.

It's the share button + ps button not options. The laptop detects it since it's in pairing mode but when I click pair it does nothing. Then 15-30 seconds later it says 'that didn't work'.

I have reset it, unplugged my ps3 and ps4 as well as manually removed it from them so it's not connecting to anything but it still doesn't work.

I had no issues using it with my PC until I paired it with my ps4. It syncs fine to the ps3 or ps4 and it works wired on the phone but refuses to pair with it. I don't get asked for a pairing code, it doesn't download any drivers or anything.
