1. I have never installed anything knowingly on my computer from 'Lexmark'.

2. About six weeks ago my 3100 series HP printer/scanner starting requirering me to Ctrl/Alt/Delete a 'transfering image file' box after I would scan something to the computer. About 4 weeks ago my HP printer would not scan anything to the Computer. I figured good opurtuinty to buy a new printer/scaner. I got an HP 6500A. I installed the software as directed and everything worked fine except the scanner, same problem as the old one.

3. NO changes made.

4. Don't remember the details of my yield sign.

5. Took it Staples. They just said alot of people see the same problem...?

6. I started poking around and found my way into a Windows Services Manager and found that the 'windows image acquisition service' was not running. Clicked on it to try and start it and I got an 'error 1068 service failed to start'. I asked for properties or something on the service and the infomation that came up was the driver was a Lexmark 422 driver or software. I figured it was something Microsoft was using from Lexmark.(?)

I do have a technical back ground in electronics. I started dealing with computers when 64k was alot of memory and 500k hard drive at work was as big as washing machine and had 240V 3 phase power to turn it on and then I got to admin a PDP 11 Dec machine for about 10 years but I haven't really kept up computers other than to have one at home as most people do now.
