- Eye of the Beholder III uses a plethora of sound cards to play back music, but mainly SoundBlaster can only be used to play sound effects. It is interesting to note that out of the three games, this is the only one not to play sound effects through the PC speaker.
- The numbers in the hints refer to locations as described in the Eye of the Beholder Vol. 1 Hint Booklet from SSI, which can still be found in some software stores, or ordered directly from Capcom by sending a check rder for.95 US funds to Capcom Customer Service, 475 Oakmead Parkway, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, along with a note including your return address and which game book you want.
The rest of Eye of the Beholder II was almost entirely about monster difficulty, not puzzle difficulty. The bit I relayed last time with the pressure plates, teleporters, and glass walls was the last challenging puzzle.

I found that most good guides can be found at GameFAQs.

The thing I enjoy about old games is that for each title there are multiple excellently written FAQs. The art of writing a FAQ is gone nowadays; all we get are useless video walkthroughs.

You don't like scrolling backwards and forwards through videos to find that one tiny simple thing you want to know?Charon121

...and accidentally seeing spoilers about unrelated things in the process. Even better when you have a playlist of 50 videos for a non-linear game, each with only a number in the title, so it's near-impossible to know which one you need for that particular quest you're stuck on.Cavenagh

Remember playing EOB 1 on Amiga 500, was stuck at 'leap of faith' for ages, there was no internet for help, but I figured it out.
Have fun, it's a great game.

On Replacementdocs you should find the clue books for the three games of the series.

I agree, while a visual picture of what the things looks like is good I still prefer an actual written walkthrough rather than some video gameplay. This is something I personally noticed when I only found a written walkthrough for the first episode of Hector: Badge of Carnage, but not the other two. So now I have to watch through boring walkthrough videos which personally takes longer time than reading through a written text (as you said, easier to find what you're looking for).huan

Shakirawolf: Hello.Merry Christmas everyone. Is there a good guide for Eye of the beholder.or tips and hints.best party.
Party hints: there is already thread about party builds (the subforum is quite hard to find). Short summary: you can't go wrong with fighter + fighter/thief + cleric + mage party. Possibly with some variation in tank department: change one fighter to paladin (if you want to play defensively) or ranger (for dual wield). I used paladin in my game - he can't cast in combat, but he doesn't have any spells you would want to cast in combat anyway. He can still provide healing when you rest, even when not holding his holy symbol. Non-party hints: the games include official hint book as PDF - those have two parts, first one contains hints, the second outright solution to all puzzles.
For external resources, I can't praise All seeing eye enough - takes the game experience to a whole new level, but it's only available for EotB 1 and 2. For 3, you can open the hint book with map and arrange your windows so that it's visible under dosbox window. Not as good as ASE, though.
